Applications are being accepted through July 3 for a seat on the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
The Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF), according to the job posting, is seeking a highly qualified individual with substantial experience as a state government preparer of financial statements, or a public accountant with a practice emphasis on state and local government accounting and auditing, to fill one of GASB’s seven seats.
The part-time role is equivalent to one-third of a full-time position. The candidate selected will be appointed to a five-year term beginning July 1, 2027.
GASB, a standard-setting board overseen by FAF with authority for establishing GAAP, is made up of members with experience as state and local government financial statement auditors and preparers, a governmental financial statement user, a public accounting auditor, and a governmental accounting academic.
