Two AICPA senior technical committees issued proposed strategic plans for 2027–2030.
The Peer Review Board (PRB) and the Professional Ethics Executive Committee (PEEC) are accepting comments on their plans through Aug. 31.
The PRB establishes, maintains, and administers the AICPA Peer Review Program. PEEC serves as the AICPA’s senior ethics committee and promotes ethical behavior for AICPA members through its Code of Professional Conduct.
“In today’s practice environment, practitioners are navigating unprecedented levels of change,” Carl Mayes, CPA, the AICPA’s vice president–CPA Candidate Quality and Competency, said in a news release. “In the face of that complexity, these draft strategic plans for the AICPA’s Peer Review Board and Professional Ethics Executive Committee provide CPAs with the clarity they need, outlining how we will continue to promote assurance quality and ethical conduct in the years ahead. Together, they reflect our steadfast commitment to serving the profession and protecting the public interest.”
The consultation paper for the PRB’s proposed strategic plan offers seven questions that commenters can consider. Interested parties are asked to submit comments by completing a survey, although respondents may email comments to PR_expdraft@aicpa.org.
The consultation paper for PEEC’s proposed strategic plan also offers seven questions. Interested parties should submit comments to ethics-exposuredraft@aicpa.org.
