The PCAOB is seeking public accounting firm practitioners to join a new advisory group focused on the board’s future approach to inspections.
The Inspections Modernization Council, according to a news release, will work to help “modernize PCAOB inspections so they remain relevant and resilient.”
The PCAOB seeks participants with capital markets expertise and knowledge of the PCAOB’s inspection program who have a demonstrated commitment to the interests of investors and the public, including practitioners from public accounting firms of varying sizes; audit committee members; financial executives at public companies; academics, technologists, other regulators, and investors.
“Modernization of PCAOB inspections has the potential to bring improved audit quality and other significant benefits to investors and other stakeholders,” PCAOB Chair Jim Logothetis said in the news release. “The Inspections Modernization Council will help us shape the future of PCAOB inspections, and we invite individuals of the highest integrity to join us in this effort.”
The application deadline is June 15.
