See troubleshooting tips below if you're having problems signing up or receiving notifications.

Be among the first to learn about important developments in tax, audit, financial reporting, and other topics by getting push notifications on your computer or mobile phone when we post stories. Opt out at any time. The system is designed to work on Windows, Mac, and Android.

Once you enable notifications, you should immediately receive a welcome notification. If you don’t, please following the troubleshooting tips below.

If you’d like to sign up but have dismissed the prompt that appeared in your browser, just reload this page that you’re on now and the prompt will reappear. Then follow any additional prompts on your computer or phone.

Troubleshooting

If you’ve enabled notifications but didn’t receive a welcome notice, or haven’t received any notifications after a couple of weeks, here are some tips to try to resolve the problem.

Windows

  • Do not use Incognito/Private Browsing/Guest Browser mode.
  • Do not have any other tabs or windows open to journalofaccountancy.com.
  • Go to: Start > Settings > System > Notifications
    • Turn On Notifications
    • Turn Off Do not disturb
    • Scroll down under Notifications from apps and other senders
      • Look for your browser(s) by name (i.e., Safari, Chrome, etc.) and make sure they are turned On.

Mac

  • Do not use Incognito/Private Browsing/Guest Browser mode.
  • Do not have any other tabs or windows open to journalofaccountancy.com.
  • Go to System Preferences > Notifications
    • You may need to select Allow notifications when mirroring or sharing the display.
    • Look for your browser (i.e., Chrome) and make sure it is On
      • If using Google Chrome or Opera, you may see two Applications. Make sure they are both turned on. Chrome may be listed as Chrome Helper.
