Practitioners still have a lot of questions about tax reform — including everything from dealing with binding and nonbinding Tax Cuts & Jobs Act (TCJA) guidance to individual planning considerations. Annette Nellen joins this episode of the podcast to address those issues. Nellen is a CPA and CGMA who is a professor and director of the MST Program at San José State University. She’s also the chair of the AICPA Tax Executive Committee.
What you’ll learn in this episode:
- What to do if guidance doesn’t exist by the time a return is filed.
- Planning advice for reducing the adverse impact of changes related to itemized deductions for individuals.
- How to help clients understand the purpose of the TCJA and its effect on them and others.
- Where practitioners can go to get more resources.
