Josi is a new generative AI product created by the AICPA in collaboration with Slalom and Microsoft. Initially focused on the auditing and accounting space, it accesses all information within the AICPA Online Professional Library, including Professional Standards and AICPA Audit and Accounting Guides.
A news release about Josi said the tool also provides access to FASB codifications and PCAOB standards.
Why the name Josi?
Josi was named after cost-accounting pioneer Josiah Wedgwood, an 18th-century English pottery manufacturer who created an early version of cost accounting during an economic slump to identify cost efficiencies.
With a chatbot interface, Josi gives access to information for accelerated search, can improve internal workflows, and keeps members up to date on current issues. Guidance is updated in the tool in real time. Especially key is that it is a secure, curated platform — your questions are yours alone, and Josi operates only with selected content.
