AICPA gives Gold Medal Award of Distinction to Mintzer

Andrew Mintzer, CPA, was presented on Wednesday with the 2025 AICPA Gold Medal Award of Distinction, the highest honor granted by the organization.
Okorie Ramsey, CPA, CGMA, past chair of the AICPA and the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, presented Mintzer with the award at spring Council in Washington, D.C.
“Andy’s dedication, his passion for the accounting profession, and his unwavering commitment to ethics and the public interest make him a true role model,” Ramsey said in a news release. “He has taken on some of the most complex challenges in standards setting and has helped guide the profession’s ethical framework. It is my great pleasure to present this award to Andy, and I have no doubt he will continue to influence the future of our profession.”
Mintzer, whose career spans more than 40 years, is a principal in the Forensic and Financial Consulting Services Group at Hemming Morse in Los Angeles.
Mintzer has made a lasting contribution to the profession through his work with the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants and the AICPA’s Auditing Standards Board and Accounting Standards Executive Committee.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mintzer has been a mentor and educator. He has played a central role in developing accounting and auditing education programs and currently serves as an instructor at the National Judicial College.
