FASB update refines reporting scope for derivatives
The AICPA issued working drafts of two new case studies Monday that will be added to its new accounting and valuation guide, Valuation of Portfolio Company Investments of Venture Capital and Private Equity Funds and Other Investment Companies, after consideration of comments from stakeholders.
The AICPA also rereleased the working draft of the guide itself to provide context for the new case studies. The case studies issued Monday are:
- New Investment 6, Investment in Non-Performing Distressed Debt, which will be added to Case Study 13, Business Development Company With Various Debt Instruments.
- New Case Study 4A, Value Fluctuations in a Real Estate Investment Financed With Debt.
