SEC, CFTC Holding Public Roundtable on International Issues
The SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will hold a joint public roundtable Aug. 1 to discuss international issues related to the implementation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act’s Title VII, also known as the Wall Street Transparency and Accountability Act of 2010.
Topics for discussion will include:
- Cross-border transactions, including application of requirements to foreign and domestic entities, reporting requirements, and mandatory clearing and trading requirements.
- Global entities, including registration as a swap or security-based swap dealer or major swap or security-based swap participant; substantive requirements; regulations of transactions versus regulation of entities; and effect of international regulatory differences on global entities.
- Market infrastructure, including registration of clearing agencies, trade data repositories, execution facilities and exchanges; substantive requirements; and effect of international regulatory differences on market infrastructure.
Panelists will be announced later.
The roundtable will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the conference center at the CFTC’s headquarters at 1155 21st N.W. in Washington. The discussion will be open to the public with seating on a first-come, first- served basis.
