The AICPA and InvestmentNews have launched “Ask the CPA,” an online discussion forum on advising clients in times of economic crisis.
InvestmentNews readers may post their questions at www.investmentnews.com/community. CPAs holding the Institute’s personal financial specialist (CPA/PFS) credential will respond. The forum will run through December 31, 2008.
“This is an especially challenging time for financial advisers,” said James Metzler, AICPA vice president–small firm interests. “Their clients are worried and seeking counsel on very difficult issues arising out of our country’s financial troubles. The AICPA is pleased to help foster dialogue among professional advisers.”
Suzanne Siracuse, publisher of InvestmentNews, said, “We’ve had two previous, successful online forums with the AICPA. We’re looking forward to working with the Institute’s members to address this important topic.”
The AICPA and InvestmentNews collaborated in 2007 on a year-end tax planning forum and earlier this year on a tax-season forum.
