Opening doors to expand tax and accounting careers

Featuring Joe Lillie, Director of Expert Network, Intuit

Q What type of roles do you have at Intuit for experts?

A We have many roles at Intuit for seasonal and year-round experts who specialize in the areas of tax and bookkeeping and provide expert advice to Intuit customers using our TurboTax Live and QuickBooks Live services. Seasonal employees can work full time or part time to meet fluctuating demand. Our SelectTime employees work year-round anywhere between 20 and 40 hours a week. These roles combine part-time flexibility with competitive benefits like 401(k) and health care coverage — even for those who don’t work 40 hours a week with Intuit.

Q Why do experts want to be part of the Intuit team?

A They love working at Intuit for many reasons. Our experts appreciate Intuit’s reputation as an innovator through our ecosystem of products that includes TurboTax, QuickBooks, Mint, Credit Karma, and Mailchimp. A significant number of our experts have their own separate practices, so we often hear their appreciation for the flexibility of the role and the ability to work from home. With our Virtual Expert Platform, we are able to give our experts a digital suite of AI-driven tools to best serve customers, freeing up their valuable time to focus on doing what they love — sharing their expertise. And we have a wide variety of customers nationwide who our experts can serve. Perhaps most importantly, from day one, our experts have thousands of colleagues with whom they can interact and learn from to share best practices and build professional networks. Simply put, we care about our experts and work hard to build a culture where they feel valued. Being a leader in our industry, and in the communities we serve, is a strong motivator, too. We pair incredible humanity with leading-edge technology to further our mission of powering prosperity across the globe, and we have some of the best engagement scores in the industry. More than 90% of our seasonal experts keep coming back year after year.

Q Once an expert joins Intuit, how do you help them grow and develop their careers?

A As customer demand for our services continues to rise, we’re growing our professional workforce to meet the demand. We offer a variety of roles of varying skill levels, so experts can advance their career paths based on their preference for professional growth. We recently launched Intuit Academy, a program to help develop tenured financial professionals and encourage new entrants into the field. Whether you are new in your career or a well-seasoned pro, we have a variety of career paths for experts with the tools, resources, and educational opportunities to help them shape their path. In any of our roles, experts have the chance to expand their expertise by working on a broad and interesting set of tax and bookkeeping scenarios from all across the country and within many industries that our experts find as another important way they can grow their skills.

Intuit is building a virtual tax and bookkeeping expert service where every consumer and small business can access the right professionals. Tax and bookkeeping experts from across the U.S. can be part of Intuit’s expansive expert network to do the best work of their lives, supported by a collaborative culture.
