Lisa Simpson was promoted to vice president—Firm Services. In her new role, Simpson will continue to oversee the Association’s relationships with CPA firms through the Major Firms Group, the G400, the Private Companies Practice Section, associations/networks of CPA firms, and the Young CPA Network. She also will lead the Center for Plain English Accounting, Technical Hotline, and Diversity & Inclusion teams.
Simpson has played a central role in the Association’s pandemic response, leading the development of resources to assist CPA firms and their clients with the Paycheck Protection Program and other business relief programs, providing guidance to thousands of CPAs and business owners through the AICPA Town Hall Series, and testifying before the House Committee on Small Business about the accounting profession’s support of PPP borrowers and the challenges small businesses and not-for-profits continue to face with the application process.
