Peter Bossaerts and Nitin Yadav, professors at the University of Melbourne, Australia, received the 2020 FMA Innovation in Teaching Award.
The award, sponsored by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, the unified voice of the AICPA and CIMA, and given on behalf of the CGMA designation, was created to recognize inspiring educators, enhance the quality and relevance of education in finance, and help the profession share successful innovative practices. Bossaerts and Yadav received the first-place award for their robotics class, which educates students on how to design and deploy algorithmic traders in real financial markets.
Runners-up were William O’Brien, assistant professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and Carl Larsson, assistant professor and Blue Ridge Bank Faculty Fellow at James Madison University.
