Schreiber and Dailey recognized for longtime commitment and service to CPA profession

Gerard “Jerry” Schreiber Jr., a partner with Schreiber & Schreiber, and John F. “Jack” Dailey Jr., a retired partner and consultant for Bowman & Company LLP, received the AICPA’s Special Recognition Award for their influence, commitment, and length of service to the CPA profession.

Schreiber, a resident of Louisiana and an expert on disaster tax relief, has shared his knowledge with CPAs and state CPA societies affected by major catastrophes across the country. In 2018 he received the Arthur J. Dixon Memorial Award, the highest honor bestowed by the accounting profession in taxation. He also received the AICPA Tax Division Distinguished Service Award in 2016 and has served nearly 25 years on numerous AICPA volunteer groups, including as an editorial adviser to the JofA.

Dailey led the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (NJCPA) New Jersey Law and Ethics course created in the wake of the Enron and WorldCom scandals. He also made significant contributions to the NJCPA Scholarship Fund that supports the course and helps minorities and women enter the CPA profession. He has served as a member of the AICPA’s governing Council and as NJCPA president, vice president, treasurer, and a member of its board of trustees, and he received the society’s 2009—2010 Distinguished Service Award.
