P. Thomas Austin received the Sidney Kess Award for Excellence in Continuing Education.
The award, created in honor of Kess, recognizes CPAs who have made significant and outstanding contributions in tax and financial planning and whose public service exemplifies the CPA profession’s values and ethics.
Austin chaired the Advanced Estate Planning Conference for three decades and currently serves as the chair emeritus. Since 2010, the AICPA has given an annual scholarship named in his honor that recognizes up-and-coming CPAs in the estate planning field. After a 38-year career with Ernst & Young, he now serves as a consultant to CPA firms, law firms, and professional organizations.
