3 high school students win online accounting game tournament

Three high school students won this year’s AICPA Bank On It tournaments:

  • Kris Floriano of California, who bested a field of participants from 16 schools to win a tournament at NAF Next 2018 in Washington, D.C.
  • Bryson Lyons of Idaho, who earned the top spot in a field of 75 at the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in Dallas. (Lyons also won in 2017.)
  • Isaac Kisten of New York, who finished first in a tournament of 64 at the Future Business Leaders of America Conference in Baltimore.

Bank On It is an interactive online game that challenges students’ knowledge of accounting fundamentals with a taste of real-world work scenarios. It features more than 2,200 questions grouped by public accounting, business and industry, or not-for-profit accounting and is inspired by content in accounting textbooks and real-life scenarios, which are then reviewed by CPAs.

More than 84,000 high school students have participated in more than 1,600 Bank On It tournaments in classrooms. Educators interested in using the game as an instructional tool can register through the AICPA’s Start Here, Go Places website at startheregoplaces.com.
