Shane Mason, tax supervisor at Raich Ende Malter & Co. LLP in New York City, received the 2017 P. Thomas Austin Personal Financial Planning Division Scholarship, which covers the cost and travel expenses to attend the AICPA Advanced Estate Planning Conference.
The annual scholarship was established to honor P. Thomas Austin, a CPA who chaired the Advanced Estate Planning Conference for three decades and is now chair emeritus. It is awarded to a CPA who has spent 10 years or fewer in the profession and has less than 10 years of experience in estate planning.
Mason facilitates the tax aspects of the estate planning process and assists clients who haven’t considered estate and gift tax planning.
