Jongwoon “Willie” Choi, Ph.D., assistant professor of business administration at the University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, received the 2015 Best Early Career Researcher Award.
The award, which is accompanied by a $2,000 grant, recognizes the best overall body of research in management accounting. It is sponsored by the AICPA and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, on behalf of the Chartered Global Management Accountant designation, and is granted in collaboration with the Management Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association (AAA). Choi’s research explores the use of accounting information in managerial decision-making. The research, which was completed within five years of Choi’s completing his doctorate, focuses on strategic performance measurement systems and performance evaluation and reward systems.
In 2014, Choi also received the AAA-AICPA’s Greatest Potential Impact on Management Accounting Practice Award and the Katz Excellence in Teaching Award.
