Internet Explorer: I’d like to open a tab

Q. Is it possible to get my Internet Explorer browser to open multiple tabs at the same time?

A. Yes. To open multiple tabs simultaneously in Internet Explorer, select Tools, Internet Options, and in the Home page area, list the URL for each desired webpage, as pictured in the example below, and click OK.

Thereafter, each time you launch the browser, Internet Explorer will open separate tabs automatically displaying each URL you specified.

To set up multiple home pages using Windows 8’s Internet Explorer touchscreen app, launch the Internet Explorer app, open a webpage you want to set as a home page, click or tap the Page tools button on the bottom right side of the screen, click or tap Options from the Page tools menu, under the Home pages section click or tap Customize, and then click or tap Add current site to complete the process. Repeat these steps to set additional websites as home pages. Thereafter, the app will automatically load all the home pages you have set each time you launch it. Note for Windows 8.1 users: The home pages you set in either the desktop or the touch version of Internet Explorer are automatically applied in both versions.
