Randy C. Roberts, senior technical director for the Arizona Office of the Auditor General, received the AICPA’s Outstanding CPA in Government Career Contribution Award.
The award recognizes significant contributions to the efficiency, effectiveness, or innovative service delivery of a federal, state, or local government organization.
Roberts has worked for the auditor general’s office since 1981, and his responsibilities have involved auditing most levels of government: the state, universities, counties, community colleges, hospitals, health plans, and school districts. In his current position, he provides technical research and assistance to office staff, auditees, and peers, and he oversees audit and accounting standards implementation.
He also serves on the AICPA National Governmental Accounting & Auditing Update Conference committee, has served on the Auditing Standards Board and on the State and Local Governments Expert Panel, and has contributed to government auditing resources.
