Ivo D. Tafkov, assistant professor of accountancy at Georgia State University, received the 2014 Best Early Career Researcher Award.
The award, sponsored by the AICPA and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants on behalf of the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation, recognizes the best overall body of research in management accounting and includes a $2,000 grant. The CGMA designation recognizes academics with experience and expertise in the field of management accounting and provides them with tools and resources to help prepare their students for the demands of the marketplace.
Tafkov’s research, which occurred within five years of earning his doctorate, focuses on the effects of economic and behavioral factors on effort and performance.
