Susan K. Whitelaw, a partner in Whitelaw, Rice & Green CPAs LLC in Shreveport, La., received the Institute’s Public Service Award for Individuals. The annual award recognizes members of the AICPA who have made significant contributions to their communities.
Whitelaw has volunteered for many years with The Arc, an organization of and for people with intellectual and related developmental disabilities and their families. She has served on the organization’s national board of directors, has held several positions on The Arc Caddo-Bossier chapter’s board, and has volunteered for The Arc’s Goldman School and Child Development Center. She also serves as treasurer for the Handicap Are Producers (HAP) House board and the Louisiana Disabled Persons Housing Corp.
Whitelaw also served as chairperson of the Feist-Weiller Cancer Center’s annual ball and has been a member of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Development Task Force.
