He has published dozens of books and articles, delivered several thousand lectures, and assisted hundreds of companies with their accounting-system selection and implementation. He also writes the JofA’s monthly Technology Q&A column.
Mitchell R. Wenger, CPA, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the E.H. Patterson School of Accountancy at the University of Mississippi. He worked for more than 20 years as a consultant for a variety of firms, focusing on their enterprise financial, data warehousing, and strategic software needs. He has worked with XML technologies since 1999 and began researching XBRL in 2004.
Rick Elam, CPA, Ph.D., is the Reynolds Professor of Accountancy in the E.H. Patterson School of Accountancy at the University of Mississippi. He previously served as dean of the College of Business at Middle Tennessee State University and, from 1989 to 1995, was vice president–Education at the AICPA. He is a member of the Mississippi State Board of Public Accountancy, has written numerous professional articles, and has been a speaker at national and international conferences.
Kelly L. Williams, CPA, is a Ph.D. student in the E.H. Patterson School of Accountancy at the University of Mississippi. She previously worked in both public and private accounting. She is currently conducting research on XBRL and related technologies.
