The AICPA was among the international accounting bodies represented at the recent Accounting Sustainability Forum in London.
His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales addressed the forum with remarks on the economic invisibility of nature, asking attendees to consider how the value of natural resources can be taken into account in economic, accounting and decision-making systems.
During the forum, participants assembled in round tables to discuss the development of integrated reporting, the work of the International Integrated Reporting Council, and how business, investors and governments can better integrate natural capital into accounting and decision making. Puma CEO Jochen Zeitz spoke at the forum about his company’s initiative to create an environmental P&L. For an in-depth look at how Puma did it, go to tinyurl.com/7rdh4xx.
Sue Coffey, AICPA senior vice president–Public Practice & Global Alliances, represented the Institute at the forum.
