AICPA names new SVP

The Institute named Lawson Carmichael senior vice president for strategy, people, and innovation.

Carmichael will lead the AICPA’s strategic planning activities and oversee the Office of Strategy Management and Human Resources team. He will also be responsible for leading market research and product and services innovation. He will work out of the Institute’s Durham, N.C., office.

Previously, Carmichael worked for Deloitte as director of corporate strategy. Prior to working at Deloitte, he was managing director for Proxicom, a global e-business consulting firm, and was the senior director at Premier Inc., an alliance of health care providers delivering strategic consulting and supply chain solutions.
