Karen Goodfriend, a principal founding member of KK Wealth Advisors LLC in Los Altos, Calif., received the 2011 Personal Financial Planning Distinguished Service Award.
The award, which was presented in January at the Institute’s Advanced Personal Financial Planning Conference in Las Vegas, recognizes an AICPA volunteer who contributes significantly to the advancement of personal financial planning as a practice discipline.
Goodfriend provides personalized financial planning and money management to high-net-worth clients in addition to specializing in stock option planning. She currently serves on the AICPA’s National Accreditation Commission. She has also served on the AICPA’s Personal Financial Planning Executive Committee, the Personal Financial Specialist Credential Committee, and the National CPA Financial Literacy Commission, an 18-member group that oversees the Institute’s financial literacy campaigns: 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy and Feed the Pig.
