Paul Bonner is a JofA senior editor responsible for overseeing coverage for CPAs who work in taxation, personal finance and CPA education.
Edward Mendlowitz, CPA/ABV/PFS/CFF, is a partner with WithumSmith+Brown in New Brunswick, N.J. He is the author of Managing Your Tax Season, Second Edition (AICPA 2010). His “Managing Your Tax Season” speeches have been presented for more than 30 years to more than 3,000 accountants and are based on a synthesis of the concerns and experiences of hundreds of accountants.
Alexandra DeFelice is a JofA senior editor. Her primary role is planning, writing and editing technology articles for the magazine and website. She also helps to drive the JofA’s social media presence through the Facebook Fan page, facebook.com/JournalofAccountancy, and Twitter account, AICPA_JofA. She graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in journalism and, while there, minored in Spanish and English.
Wesley G. Nissen, Esq., is a partner with the financial services practice group of Winston & Strawn LLP in Chicago. He concentrates his practice on the representation of asset managers and proprietary trading firms. He is a frequent speaker on topics pertaining to hedge funds and private investment partnerships. He serves on several committees of the Managed Funds Association. He also is a member of the American Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and the Futures Industry Association.
Milton K. Buckingham, Esq., is a partner with the financial services practice group of Winston & Strawn LLP in Chicago. He concentrates his practice on transactional and regulatory matters involving the asset management industry. He has written and spoken on asset management topics, including writing “Hedge Fund Update” of the Futures & Derivatives Law Report. He is a member of the Managed Funds Association and the Law and Compliance Division of the Futures Industry Association. He also is a member of the American Bar Association and of the Chicago Bar Association’s Futures and Derivatives Law Committee and Financial and Investment Services Committee.
James M. Fornaro, CPA, DPS, CMA, CFE, is an associate professor of accounting at SUNY–Old Westbury. He has 30 years of experience in public accounting, internal auditing and financial reporting for private and public companies. His research interests are in corporate governance, voluntary disclosure, environmental accounting, and integrating practical and theoretical accounting issues.
Sydney S. Traum, Esq., CPA, LL.M., practices law in Miami-Dade County, Fla. He is a member of the AICPA’s S Corporation Technical Resource Panel and chair of the Florida Bar Tax Section S Corporation Committee. He is a licensed attorney and CPA in Florida and New York. He is the author of The S Corporation: Planning and Operation and a co-author of The S Corporation Answer Book, both published by Aspen Publishers. He is a past president of the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants and of the Dade County Chapter of the Florida Institute of CPAs.
