Alexandra DeFelice is a JofA senior editor. Her primary role is planning, writing and editing technology articles for the magazine and website. She also helps to drive the JofA’s social media presence through the Facebook Fan page, facebook.com/JournalofAccountancy, and Twitter account, AICPA_ JofA. She graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in journalism and, while there, minored in Spanish and English.
Kim Nilsen is the JofA’s editorial director. She manages content development for the magazine and its website, journalofaccountancy.com. She also oversees coverage of accounting and auditing. Prior to joining the AICPA in 2007 she worked for American City Business Journals.
Edward Mendlowitz, CPA/ABV/PFS/CFF, is a partner with WithumSmith+Brown in New Brunswick, N.J. He is the author of Managing Your Tax Season, Second Edition (AICPA 2010). His “Managing Your Tax Season” speeches have been presented for more than 30 years to more than 3,000 accountants and are based on a synthesis of the concerns and experiences of hundreds of accountants.
Karl L. Fava, CPA, CVA, MBA, is a principal with Business Financial Consultants Inc. in Dearborn, Mich., and a member of the AICPA Tax Section Individual Income Taxation Technical Resource Panel.
Ellen Weiss, Esq., is a tax consultant in Canton, Mich., and previously was a regional resource manager–tax at Deloitte Services LP and senior manager at Deloitte Tax, with a focus on real estate industry and partnership taxation, as well as S corporations and high-net-worth individuals.
Robert E. Huber, CPA, M.A., is a principal with Huber CPA PC, and a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Arizona, both in Tucson, Ariz. He is a former senior manager at KPMG and manager at Deloitte. He received his M.A. in accounting from the University of Arizona in 2007.
