Alexandra DeFelice is a JofA senior editor. Her primary role is planning, writing and editing technology articles for the magazine and website. She also helps to drive the JofA’s social media presence through the Facebook page, facebook.com/JournalofAccountancy, and Twitter account, AICPA_JofA. She graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in journalism and, while there, minored in Spanish and English.
Matthew G. Lamoreaux is a JofA senior editor. He oversees coverage of corporate finance, financial reporting and international issues. He has more than 12 years of experience writing and editing for professional publications. He has a B.A. in English and has studied management and economics in the executive MBA program at Elon University.
Daniel Karnis, CPA, FLMI, is a director in the national Tax Projects Delivery Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. He has managed numerous research and development and manufacturing incentives reviews and reportable transaction disclosure engagements, and has assisted companies primarily in the computer software and financial industry. He has 11 years of public accounting experience and joined PwC in 2003.
Wayne E. Nix, CPA, DBA, is assistant professor of accounting at Jackson State University in Jackson, Miss. He has published one article previously in the JofA with Lee G. Knight and Ray A. Knight (“Internal-Use Software and the Research Credit,” Dec. 1999, page 79).
Lee G. Knight, Ph.D., is a professor of accountancy at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. With her husband, Ray A. Knight, she has published 20 articles previously in the JofA, including one also with Wayne E. Nix.
Ray A. Knight, Esq., CPA/PFS, is managing director of Capstone Planning Alliance LLC in Winston-Salem, N.C. With his wife, Lee G. Knight, he has published 20 articles previously in the JofA, including one also with Wayne E. Nix.
Jean Gordon Carter, Esq., CPA, is a partner in the international law firm Hunton & Williams LLP in its Raleigh, N.C., office. Her practice areas include tax and tax-exempt matters, estate planning and administration. She earned her J.D. with high honors from Duke University School of Law and graduated magna cum laude with honors in accountancy from Wake Forest University.
