As part of its ongoing relationship with Habitat for Humanity, the Institute collected member donations to help pay for the construction of 10 Core houses for families affected by the earthquakes in Haiti. (Visit tinyurl.com/yhc32wo for more information about Core houses.)
Donations were collected through the AICPA’s CPAs in Support of America Fund Inc., a 501(c)(3) disaster relief fund formed in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and later used to collect contributions for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The Institute’s news release about the Haiti effort is available at www.aicpa.org/press.
