Alternatives for the Lost Compressed-Weekend Option in Outlook 2007

Q: Did Microsoft hide the compressed-weekend option in Outlook 2007, where Saturday and Sunday share one box in the calendar?

A: No, it’s not hidden, it has been removed. However, there are some things you can do to partially compensate for the loss. For example, you can adjust your calendar to start the week with a Monday so that Saturday and Sunday, while not compressed, at least are both shoved to the end of the week. To do that, go to Tools, Options, Calendar Options.

 

Two other things you can do: One is to customize the days you want to display in the calendar by going first to the miniaturized calendar on the left and highlighting the days you want to focus on (see screenshot below).

Or you can use View, 5 Work Week (Ctrl+Alt+2); then, if you use the left and right arrows, you’ll still see only Monday through Friday.
