To Create Macros in Word 2007, Initiate the Developer Tab in the Ribbon

Q: I just loaded Word 2007, and now I want to create macros. But I can’t find a way to access the macro tools. Please help.

A: They are there. But to access them, you first have to load a tab that, by default, is missing in the Ribbon—the Developer tab. For some reason it’s not automatically initiated when Office 2007 is installed; you have to do it manually by clicking on your Office button (in the upper-left corner of the Word screen) and then on the Word Options tab in the lower right. Now click on the first option, Popular, and place a check next to Show Developer tab in the Ribbon and hit OK. Then, when you return to the Home tab, the Developer will be visible and ready to go.
