The AICPA created the Sidney Kess Award for Excellence in Continuing Education to recognize individual CPAs who have made significant and outstanding contributions in tax and financial planning and whose public service exemplifies the CPA profession’s values and ethics.
Kess, 84, a CPA and attorney, is a nationally renowned tax expert and an author and speaker on the topics of financial and estate planning.
“Sid has passed his expertise in tax, financial and estate planning to thousands of CPAs, and we are honored to establish an award in his name,” said Barry Melancon, AICPA president and CEO, in a press release. “He has made and continues to make an impact on the profession.”
Nominations are being solicited by the Tax Strategies for the High-Income Individual Conference Steering Committee and will be accepted until Jan. 31, 2011. The committee determines the recipient of the award.
