I’m delighted how well the new Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter works. It traps 50 or more spam items a day for me. But before I whack them with the Delete key, I glance at the list to be sure the filter hasnt accidentally labeled a good e-mail as spam. If I do catch one mislabeled, I move it to the Safe Recipients List (see screenshot below).

Then when I delete the spam files, sending them to the Deleted Items folder, I have to delete them again from that folder. Is there some way to streamline this double-deleting?

It does seem silly. And, fortunately, there is a one-step solution.
After youve made sure the filter hasnt accidentally nabbed a good message, press Ctrl+A; that highlights the entire spam list. Then hold down the Shift key as you hit the Delete key and theyll all be guillotined in a single step.
If you havent yet downloaded the Outlook filter, go to www.microsoft.com and do a search on Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (see screenshot below).
