Every month I need to move a large number of files from one folder (directory) to another. Moving one at a time is laborious. Is there a fast way to do it?

Windows Explorer has several ways. The fastest way is to move a group of contiguous files is to right-click and direct your mouse over the target files. You also can highlight contiguous files by holding down the Shift key and clicking on the first file and then on the last. That will highlight all the files in between. Once highlighted, the files can be moved, copied or deleted as a group.

If the files arent contiguous, hold down the Ctrl key while you highlight each target file with your left mouse button.

To highlight all the files in a folder, press Ctrl+A.
