Q. One of my clients has fallen victim to fraud on the Internet. He notified the local district attorney, but is there something else I can advise him to do?
A. Yes, there is a new federal agency dealing specifically with cyber crime. It’s the Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFCC), a joint venture of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C). The fraud center Web site provides a convenient way to report Internet crime, alerting authorities of a suspected criminal or civil violation. For more information, go to www.ifccfbi.gov (see Smart Stops on the Web ).
