Pennsylvanian Wins Service Award
The AICPA presented Robert Margolis, CPA, with the 1999 Public Service Award at its spring council meeting in Washington, D.C.
“Bob Margolis’s efforts have raised millions of dollars and created dozens of organizations and funds to help those in need,” said Barry Melancon, president of the AICPA, of Margolis’s contributions to his community. “He is a credit to the profession.”
For more than three decades, Margolis, a partner of Harry Margolis & Co., Lehigh, Pennsylvania, has volunteered with local organizations including the Moravian Academy, the Jewish Family Service of the Lehigh Valley, the Lehigh Associates for Retarded Citizens, the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley and the Lehigh Valley Helping Hand Foundation.
Margolis has also served as president of the Lehigh Valley Social Service Exchange, the development committee of Lehigh University and the allocations committee of the United Way.
