Richard L. Ward, president of Capital Configuration LLC in Pittsburgh, received the 2019 P. Thomas Austin Personal Financial Planning (PFP) Scholarship.

Ward has been a licensed CPA since 2011 and leads his own financial planning firm, where he connects tax with estate planning.

The scholarship, which is awarded to a CPA who has worked less than 10 years and has less than 10 years' estate planning experience, covers the cost of attending the AICPA's Advanced Estate Planning Conference, as well as the related travel expenses. The AICPA established the scholarship in 2010 to honor Austin, a CPA who chaired the Advanced Estate Planning Conference for three decades and is chair emeritus.
