CFOs and controllers enjoy higher pay in Northeast and West

A recent survey of accountants in private industry revealed that CFOs and controllers in small companies (under $50 million in annual revenues) in the Northeast and on the West Coast make more money than they do elsewhere in the country.

Tax managers, however, buck the geographic trend. They earn higher salaries in the North Central area than in any other region of the country.
