Einhorn Earns Tax Division's Distinguished Service Award

Alan R. Einhorn, vice chairman of the AICPA Tax Executive Committee and a partner with Deloitte Tax LLP in Washington, D.C., received the AICPA Tax Division’s 2007–2008 Distinguished Service Award.

The award recognizes outstanding current contribution to the AICPA Tax Division. Jeffrey R. Hoops, chairman of the Tax Executive Committee, presented the award at the Tax Division’s spring meeting in New Orleans.

“Alan was an obvious choice for this year’s award,” said Tom Ochsenschlager, AICPA vice president–taxation. “The number of personal hours he dedicated to the AICPA Tax Division this year was phenomenal.”

Einhorn led a task force to help the AICPA’s efforts to change the law Congress passed in May 2007 that raised the tax return reporting standards for tax return preparers to a level higher than that required of taxpayers.
