JofA Cybersecurity Center

July 2012

Cybersecurity CenterCybercrime is a significant threat to CPA firms and their clients. For businesses and other organizations, the loss of customer or employee records to a cyberattack can cost millions of dollars and do significant damage to reputation and brand. Data breaches cost organizations $5.5 million per incident, or $194 per record stolen, in 2011, according to the annual Cost of Data Breach Study from the Ponemon Institute and Symantec.

To assist in the protection of digital data and systems across the accounting profession, the JofA has compiled links to its coverage of cybersecurity issues as well as links to resources from the AICPA. The JofA will update this page on a regular basis, so check back often for the latest news on how you can protect yourself, your business, and your clients from cybercriminals.
