Reigle Receives Beta Alpha Psi 2009 President's Award

NOVEMBER 2009

Dennis Reigle, the AICPA’s director of Academic & Career Development, received the President’s Award from Beta Alpha Psi.

The award is given to an individual who has had a significant impact on Beta Alpha Psi over many years.

Reigle was Beta Alpha Psi president in 2002 and 2003 and is currently the AICPA’s liaison to its board of directors. As president, he launched an electronic way for Beta Alpha Psi chapters to submit their activity reports. Previously each chapter had to submit paper reports. Reigle has also served as the organization’s chair and as a member of its advisory forum, a group of leaders from industry, professional service firms and government.

As the Institute’s director of Academic & Career Development, Reigle led the AICPA’s development and publication of the annual Trends in the Supply of Accounting Graduates and the Demand for Public Accounting Recruits, which reports on trends in accounting enrollments, degrees awarded and entry-level hiring practices.

He was influential in the creation of the Accounting Doctoral Scholars program, which seeks to help reverse the shortage of accounting Ph.D.s in U.S. colleges and universities by recruiting CPAs to become accounting professors.
